Top Returning 4x8s

Did this for fun. There are definitely some teams that could be included on here based on splits/dual meets/projections, but based purely on the information available on penntrack and including no split times here is what I've got:

  1. I think some of the Ohara cross country boys have run faster 800s than that. What about Hall and Moy for Henderson? I thought they were sub 2 guys, also I think Chaborak has run faster than that.

    1. like he said they're just Penn track listed times, not including splits but on that note i do believe Hall is sub 2 for sure and Moy is close to that

    2. Ohara also picked up Nick Smart who ran a 1:59.75 open

    1. not projections, its based on times that have been run on penntrack, seeing as brophy is a freshman it is impossible to include him in the relay

    2. those all are PR's from last year to clarify. the brophy listed is frank, his older brother.

    1. please read carefully, these are based on the penntrack numbers ... obviously CV has a 1:51, 1:56ish, and 1:59ish returning but those are all splits and thus not listed on penntrack ... these are far from predictions, merely food for thought

  4. just want to clarify that all i did was literally go to penntrack, find the top 4 returners on a team by 800m pr listed online, posted them into a file and added up the times ... THESE ARE NOT PREDICTIONS ... in the words of bane ... that comes later

  5. You guys seriously need to read. He clearly stated that this was for fun and that he only used penntrack open times. Some of these opens were from years ago, some are early indoor times, and some are late outdoor times.

What has Brophy run so far this season? You think he will be a 1:59?

  6. as for the CB East post it is referring to jake brophy's older brother frank i believe who is a junior this year and ran 1:59 last year.

    1. my mistake, that is a fair point ... using only penntrack times though CB East ends up at:
      Brophy 1:59.84
      Brand 2:03.14
      Boucher 2:07.48
      Donnello 2:09.15

      This adds up to 8:19.51

Now obviously CB East has guys who have split faster than their best marks on penntrack so they can run faster, but so too has ... well ... every relay on the list I'd bet

  7. Etrain, you made the poll, but what's your answer? Would you rather get first at States of 5th at Nationals?

    1. oh goodness, its a really hard question because both are amazing achievements ... but I think honestly I'd rather have that state championship, but 5th in nationals is amazing and its an achievement that should not go underappreciated
