Appearently yesterday I made my 200th ever post on the blog? Wow, um, not exactly sure how I missed an opportunity to make a big deal out of a little thing (it's kind of my speciality) but I did.
I got to thinking, geez I made a lot of posts over the past few months and I have had a lot of varied success, but the two points where I think the blog was most successful and most talked about were this past cross country season and the time when I tried to implement the penntrack oscars.
So the Oscars, overall, didn't turn out to be too much of a success, I made a couple videos to promote it, an interview video and a rap video about the state of Pennsylvania and such which was fun and I think hopefully we got a few laughs out of them, but in the end the oscars didn't really work out. I didn't put together quite the show I was hoping for, but hey, you win some, you lose some.
This year I have hopes again, for at least an improvement from last year. If requested, I can make another rap song updated to be a bit more relevant to the newer fans of the blog and newer followers of state events, and of course we have to have voting and determine this years Oscar winners! Yay!
Yeah, so maybe I am the only one enthusiastic about this, but I don't really mind. Here's the deal, I need some nominations for the categories for this upcoming Oscars. Remember Oscar season goes from Indoor States last year, to approximately Febuary 1st of this year 2012. That gives you a lot of seasons to choose from for nominees. In fact, most of the nominees will probably be guys who graduated already from high school. But don't let me influence you too much. Here are the categories:
Best Actor in a Leading Role (AKA Male Runner of the Year PA High School)
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (AKA Best #2 Runner of PA High School)
Best Actress in a Leading Role (AKA Female Runner of the Year PA HS)
Best Actress in a Supporting Role (AKA Best #2 Runner of PA High School)

Brent Kennedy replacing Magaha in that section then
ReplyDeleteFor the Best Documentary Feature, I've got to say that Oxygen Deprived really deserves it. He was a driving force behind finally getting Penntrack to loosen their restriction, and he got them to make statistics available again to non-subscribers, even though they revoked his account afterwards (If you try to go to his account now, Penntrack claims that he no longer exists, and all of his posts have been deleted). I would say that that alone places him in the list of top five posters ever (although I still think you're number one, eTrain).
ReplyDeleteSecond man/girl for me...
ReplyDeleteGirl = Michelle Tracy hands down. 2:12.8 being your second best? Only Chloe Schmidt and Emma Keenan can say they're a part of that exclusive club. Maybe Angel Piccirillo, she ran a blazing fast 4x8 split at outdoor states, but that's it. Hands down the best girl support role.
Boy= Matt McGarvey, Will Taylor, and Brian Hamilton. Matt ran a 1:53 split at the Penn Relays... how many 1:53s are second best on a relay? I can tell you only one. Will Taylor. He is a 1:53 800 runner (first year running the 800) and has sick 47.5 400 speed. Let's also not forget about Brian Hamilton... you know, sixth place at states, 48 point open, 22 mid-low 200 speed. All of that and he is second best... to Tyler Gallen. How many #2 guys are sixth place at states?
I really didn't need all of this elaboration, but I was bored and needed to procrastinate more on homework... so... here it is.
