The Bracket

This idea was given to me on a comment yesterday and I think it's a great idea. We set up an NCAA tournament style bracket and using the poll on the side we vote on who should win. I think it is definitely a cool idea and I tried it before a while ago, but, eh, I wasn't quite dedicated enough to the idea, but I'm hoping this time will be different.

But the question in who is to be included in the bracket? Just PA guys? Just High School guys? College Guys? Any guys world wide? College Schools?

Obviously what I know best is PA high school guys, but even PA high school guys comes with question marks, like which group of PA high schoolers are we including? PA high schoolers ever? Or just the last couple years?

These are all questions that kind of hinge on the fans, which are you guys. You guys are the ones voting, so your opinion matters most. I'm going to put up a poll with a couple options, and it will expire on the 11th of March and then I'll set up a bracket.

If you have nominees for who you think should be included in the bracket, feel free to comment on the post here.

Also 64 teams? Or less? That's something else to consider if deciding to leave your comment here.

Thanks buds, enjoy that March Madness spirit.

  1. How about an all time cross country team 16 team bracket for school? So in your case, UD would have palm and feruzzi on the same team. Just a thought

    1. That's a great idea. How far back would you would go, 2000, 1990, 1985? 2000 might be the most relevant to this group.

  2. You could do individuals for high school, have like 4 regions west pa aaa east pa aaa then pa independant and aa for the last group.

  3. I think the bracket should be for best single performance/meet by an athlete for both XC and track. Tommy Grushcow's District 3 track performance comes to mind. Also Gilmore's Indoor States.
You could probably take 32 entries and individuals could be on the board multiple times depending on how many great performances they have.
