So hopefully I can help to clarify some of the confusion about how this race is going to be constructed. The jury is still out on the individuals, and I can explain more in depth why I think certain people should be in and out but I'm not going to worry about that just yet because I haven't quite compiled the research I would like to have on that subject.
Here are the teams selected and the 5-7 guys who will competing for them on the Hershey course. Chambersburg, Carlisle and Kiski will be added to the team race, but I haven't compiled who will be reprsenting their team just yet.

It would be pretty easy to say coatesville considering they were legendary but im gonna have to say henderson with this one. two guys at 2nd place at states.
ReplyDeleteSomeone to look at: Paul Degregorio on Baldwin's squad. He beat Cain basically all of last year (except WPIALS) and Kuchta most of the year as well. Its hard to pick which one of those guys to drop from the top 7, but something to look at.
ReplyDeleteFor carlisle guys you should go: Hurston, Pope, Dennison, Padgett, Hoover, Gerras, and Williams
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't Steve Hallinan on O'Hara's team?
ReplyDeleteBill Lordan, Jonathan Hughes, Torin Pulfrey, and Arne Andersen for Great Valley. It should be something like... Willig, Borillo, Addis, Lordan, Hughes, Willig, Anderson.
-RTJ
For HH I would probably throw another Hibbs in there over Kraiss or DiFlorio
ReplyDeleteit's only the class of 2007 onward so the 4th Hibbs is not teh list and Hallinan is not on the list because both are not within the limit
ReplyDeletei was thinking about degregorio and i may make the switch after i look over some more hershey results cuz thats where the course is for the race
so like i said above if lordan hughes and anderson graduated before 2007 (and I'm not sure if that's accurate but my guess is that it's true) then they don't count in this race
boyertown has weller, dennin and kelley. not sure about 4 other runners in that team to make the cut
ReplyDeletethey were a near miss, they have 3 great out front who will probably all make it in on their own, i could maybe throw them in but idk how well they will place
ReplyDeleteDon't forget about McClafferty. Throwing him in that mix and I think they'd be pretty dangerous....
Deletemcclafferty is from conrad weiser not boyertown
ReplyDeleteWhy I thought he was from b-town, I'll never know.
DeleteWithout looking at stats for individual runners (I will leave to the number crunching up to the stat man e-train-he does a great job), I would say coatesville would led the pack with a National Championship under their belt (hard to argue against the best team in the nation that year). They also have 1 other runner up finish. That team would be followed closely by:
ReplyDelete2. NP - 3 time State Champs (07, 08, 11)
3. NA - State Champ (10), Runner up 09, (3) 3rd Place finishes
4. WCH - State Champ (09), runner up (06,10)
For consideration: CRN with 5 top ten finishes, HH and LaSalle with 4 top ten and Baldwin/Mt.Leb with 3 top ten.
ps: I'm not familiar nor have not followed AA, so apologies to AA teams who may have been deserving.
