On to the second day of results. First off gotta say, why is there no love for Pennridge? 7:45 4x800m! PA #3 All Time! Faster than CB South and North Penn have ever run indoors! Is it because they don't have the flashy big names? Admittedly their anchor is just a sophomore, but he has had a couple of clutch races. I still can't list all four names in this blog post right now I just know Logue and Kohler and the other kid from Archbishop Wood or wherever. They are all very even splits I'm assuming based off indoor states where they were all very close in terms of time. At this meet running 7:45high that puts them at an average of roughly 1:56.5 a guy. On average. So somebody has to be 1:55 shape or they are all very even which is quite impressive in itself to have 4 guys indoors at 1:56. But no talk anywhere, no serious penntrack love in forums or articles and still nobody has given me official splits on this squad. Gotta show these guys some love, great race, and the possibility of big things outdoors with the right competition.

O'Hara, my PA #1 XC team did what great XC teams do, they ran some solid relays. 4xMile under 18 minutes and 10:33ish DMR on back to back days. Other 4xmiles were solid, GFS, Haven, Henderson, but nothing shocking. A little let down on the HGPrep bandwagon, but I imagine Horgan was on pretty tired legs. It would be interesting to see some splits on this relay in order to get more of a full picture and see if anyone surprising was in the low 4:20s.

Not too much else to say about Saturday. NCAAs was pretty sweet, nice work by some PA kids on PSU's squad that got second at NCAAs! Brady Gehret in the 45s split indoor and Brandon Bennent Green in the 46s.

My boy Chris Derrick. I feel for you. Two amazing races. Hopefully it at least pays off in the long run and he makes the olympic trials. That'd be sweet.

  1. The race is online, so you can try and get the splits yourself. I got Logue at around 1:55.3ish.

Emma Keenan ran a 2:10, idk the .whatever so I'm not sure if it's a lifetime best for her, but come outdoors she should be sub 2:10 for sure.

Anyone have splits on O'Hara/Haven? I am not watching that long of a race... sorry...

Penn Wood got second and three of their runners didn't even run their best. Only their lead off had a close to season best.

  2. I watched only the fast heat and got Ohara at: Bilotta 4:26, Savage 4:26 high, Pitone 4:34, and Pastore 4:26 high

  3. Did you mean you hope Derrick makes the Olympics? Cause he already has the A standard so he's already in the trials. I agree though, both races were super ballsy on his part

  5. Three sophomores and a junior for Henderson. The junior isn't really a miler too. Next year they will be even better. Also, it's good to see that Barchet is healthy and in great shape.
