A few question marks, like where were Seel and Groh at the finish? If Groh finishes up in that top pack maybe the rankings change up a bit. Both of these DNFs really effect the team rankings that are coming up as well. I had a tough time placing Harriman and DiSilvio this week. Harriman had a fantastic kick and earned mad props from me for a great bounce back race, but DiSilivio ran a heck of a race himself. Not an incredible field (I think Briarwood was better) but some interesting times. A lot of new names bursting on to the scene as well. Some guys are going to be hard to place. Meehan was like NA's 4th guy a week ago so placing someone like him on the list is a challenge and a half. Tried not to over react to Norris's return. He looks like he is going to be shooting back up this list.

Will you be doing anything for Paul Short? There should be some good competition there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, a big matchup will be featured this weekend. The US #1 Christian Brothers vs #1 PA Cardinal O'Hara
DeleteWhere's Ken Leidal?
ReplyDeletedidn't have that fast of a day at bull dog, he ended up being moved off the list as a result
DeleteChris Cummings?...Beat Steadman and ran a faster time than Huemmler at Bulldog
ReplyDeletehes ranked 46th....
DeleteThat's probably why he's 46th in front of those two
DeleteNo Matt Hayes? i can name a lot of kids he beat on this list... multiple races too
ReplyDeletehonestly, i haven't found results from those races, i think out of the people who made the list, in head to head xc races this year he has only beaten nissley? who's best race was a very strong race at ptxc ... but if there are more results for guys like Hayes I'd like to see them, it helps with the rankings
DeleteHayes wasn't even in o'haras top 10 last year.... They turned him into a monster in 1 year!
DeleteRussell seems a little too low. His and Shearn's 15:41 at Briarwood are still a bit more impressive than anything at Foundation or anywhere else so far.
ReplyDeleteHayes- very impressive jump
ReplyDeletebelmont(briarwood)- 16:38
Hershey-17:04
last Year
Belmont(briarwood)-18:56
hershey- 19:08
yes, its a great jump, and there is reason to expect he will have a big year, but that does not mean he is better than any of the guys on this list, he needs to beat those guys for that to happen
DeleteThe individuals look pretty good. It will be nice to see Russell vs. Harriman this week at Carlisle. NA is not entered yet. I'm sure one of the reasons Henderson was going was to see them. PB vs. WCH should be good though.
ReplyDeleteOn the team side, O'Hara ran a little better last week but still looks like the best PA team since Coatesville won Nationals. The battle for 2nd looks tight between NA and WCH. They look almost even off of their performances vs. O'Hara. O'Hara looks like a lock unless someone key gets hurt. They may not be at CBA's level, but they could definitely be a top 5 team at NXN.
The next group looks like Pennsbury, Lower Dauphin, Mt. Lebo, WCE and CRN-if CRN gets to States-which they always have, they'll be dangerous with possibly 3 in the top 30. Their 4 and 5 will kill them, but they could be as high as 4. After that, everyone is flawed.
O'Hara showed something most thought they were missing and that's depth. 6 in the top 15 at Foundation is ridiculous. And their 7th guy, Nick Smart, should end up right in the mix too.
ReplyDeleteDon't count Henderson out yet though, it's still 5+ weeks to States. Early on Haugh has been out. Chaborek, Collins, Stratman not in top shape. There's plenty of room for improvement there with guys who ran some good races last year.
Where's Kevin Moy?
ReplyDeleteYeah where is that boy?
DeleteYou all should just Aziz Yousif.
ReplyDeleteWCE ran without their 5th guy. I believe if he ran, they would have had all five guys under 17. They are starting to look like O'Hara with the pack running (just not as fast). Come districts, they may snag second if they keep getting over looked.
ReplyDeleteGood call Etrain on not going crazy about Norris just yet. He ran basically the same time as last year (like .5 slower maybe) and looked great, but last year he had a 50 second lead, this year it was 6. Wait a bit before we jump on the bandwagon.
Jack will get into shape. I'm not too worried. Same with Kardish, I'm not sure why he ran so slowly, but I know he's a beast and will rock districts. Hoping the HGP tradition of peaking early and burning out late doesn't hurt him.
Keep tabs on the O'Hara kid. Pastore's little brother? Solid. He will be a threat come districts.
-RTJ
WCE will not get 2nd at Districts. They love to run the small invitationals. They will go to great lengths to avoid hills and competition.
DeleteAgreed. They've always run the white division at Paul Short for a cheap victory. It looks like they're in the Brown this year and they'll probably run well, but come late october, injuries, fatigue etc. Too much too soon is what happens with them.
DeleteHonestly, if you're saying they love to avoid hills, districts is the course for them to run at then. They have four people in the 16's and their fifth guy would have been if he ran and a sixth guy at 17:15. They're legit. You're saying they won't be second, but who will be? They beat CRN, they beat GV. GV AND CRN beat NP. Granted that WCE has the tendency to burn out and CRN, NP, and GV generally peak at the correct times, as of statistics right now, that's irrelevant. As of this moment in time, assuming everyone peaks correctly and stays injury free, I believe that WCE will take second to Henderson at Districts. Followed by GV, CRN, and NP rounding out the top five. Just my opinions though... I'm obviously playing favorites since I went to GV, haha. Then again I never talk about GV so... yeah haha. Paul Short shall reveal all (to this moment at least)!
Delete-RTJ
I meant obviously not playing favorites.

Pennsbury bro
DeleteWow. I completely forgot about them! I still think if all goes well WCE can beat them.
Delete-RTJ
yes thats pastores little brother
ReplyDeletehow old is pastores little brother?
ReplyDeleteSoph
ReplyDeleteHas Caleb Wakeley actually run a race yet?
ReplyDeleteOhara vs CBA this weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhere?
DeleteGreat American NC
DeleteWakely hasn't run an invite that's online yet. And I know it's hard to rank Meehan but he is actually a senior though he is listed as a sophomore on the results, but he's been on varsity since his freshman year and is pretty legit. 19th in wpials last year. Also fun fact he is great at triathlons too, made it to nationals over the summer.
