Sorry

I'm sorry to say that it's finals week for me here at Muhlenberg so I won't be able to do anything more than watch people talk and look up the occasional result until Friday or so. So try to keep the conversation going and I'll try to get good stuff like recaps and previews and everything set up when I get back.

Also I'm probably going to be at Districts and hopefully at states this year doing coverage for the blog. I'm hoping to be wearing my shirt that says etrain on the back which should indicate to everyone who I am. I'd love to get interviews and in depth coverage and I have an iphone now so videos should be fairly easy to get.

Anyway try not to be too harsh on my boys here at Muhlenberg and D3 running in general, enjoy the fast times that have been dropped, and be prepared for big things when I return to the scene.

Peace and talk to y'all in a week.

  1. Etrain <3. I'll get things going by saying things will go down at Mid Penns. I'm intrigued by the 4x8 and the open 800 the most and expect some killer performances.

    1. I am also really looking forward to Mid-Penns. I would expect at least 1 state qualifier from every event, field, sprint, hurdles, distance. There should be at least 3 mile state qualifiers and probably the same in the 8 and 32, especialy with State College and Mifflin County joining with ability to reach from District 6.

  4. Girls 4x400 and 4x800 at chesmonts will be fun to watch, especially if great valley loads up both of them.

    1. Who cares-someone keeps trying to turn this into a girls blog and it's not. Start your own girl-centered distance, xc blog and good luck with that. What about boys 4x4, 4x8

    2. Hopefully Lobster starts a girls blog... that would be, umm... interesting?

Anyway, chill dude. If people want to post about girs who cares? A lot of them are much "higher up" on the national scene than the guys. Even if they aren't the focus of the blog we can still can give them props for their work. Also some of the best, most entertaining races I have seen are girls races. If you don't care then just don't read it; it is pretty simple stuff.

    3. Personally I don't care what gets posted here-I'll just ignore the stuff that's meaningless to me but wasn't there a blog post from someone a while back specifically for girls? I think etrain himself has mentioned that he'd rather stay in his lane as far as this blog goes. Just sayin.

  7. No Russell at chesmonts. The rest of his team ran. Maybe he's just resting whatever was hurt after the Henderson invite, hopefully it isn't something really serious.

    1. Haven't seen any results posted yet. It wasn't called off for rain or anything, was it?

  8. Chesmonts was run. I'm interested to see the results too. I heard there were some solid performances.

Woah, don't hate on girls. The reason people throw them shout outs is because PA girls tend to make the national stage more often than guys. When's the last time a PA guy was invited to the brooks PR invite in Seattle? Not saying girls are better or anything, just saying. If you hate it that much just don't read it once you realize it's a post about girls.

I'm more interested to see how Yannacone did. I'd love to see him get back into district champ 800 form. A nice end to a solid career.

    1. Yannacone anchored the 4x400, probably in 51.

    2. Henderson and DWest went light. A few decent performances in the distance events by WC East.

    3. Nice 3200 by Moy, he's really had a breakthrough season. He's the 5th WCH runner under 9:35, and all 5 are back next year.

  9. Caldwell won the 800-1:56ish?, Barchet placed 1st in mile around 4:24 and Moy took first in the 3200-maybe around 9:32. That's all I got except some dreaded girls stuff-Deacon won the 800 in 2:14, Courtney Smith the mile in 4:57 and Pastor-Sebring, the 3200.

  10. You guys mentions distance sweep by district. How about a Conference ALMOST sweep : The little SOL American Conference almost swept 100 - 1600 at states in 2011. 100 Ty Smith Norristown, 200 Matt Gilmore Cheltenham (2nd place after Gillespie should have been DQ'd for BLATANTLY running out of his lane in the trials AND semi's), 400 Gilmore, 800 Cho Wissahickon, 1600 Magaha Upper Moreland.

  11. Mid Penns will be interesting to watch. Saw the heat sheats and I have to say the mile is pretty stacked: Jeff Groh, Will Cather, Zach Brehm, Alex Coburn, Jon Colwell and Vinny Todaro are going to put on a show to say the least, and I really hope it can be caught on film like it was at Shippensburg. As for the 800 I think it will be pretty predictable placement-wise but fast times will definitely be run. In the 3200 from what I heard Vinny Todaro isn't racing because of Big Spring's prom so that means it will most likely be dominated by the LD boys, Groh and Nissley. In the 4 by 800 I don't think anybody will really be able to touch CV, however, it will be very interesting to see where State College, Carlisle, Central Dauphin, and Hershey stand. All these teams could be in the 7:57-8:04 range.

Good stuff will happen at Mid Penns. Track fans stay tuned.

  12. Cather is not in the mile. He and Kunzweiler are running a fresh 800 it looks like. And I think SC can give CV a run for their money in the 4x8. I see both teams under 7:50 with the right conditions.

    1. I don't know about that. They have a solid team but I dont know if they have the third and fourth legs to get it done, I'm not saying it can't happen, but I just don't think they'll be close to CV. Although it really helps when you have Cather going 1:55 and Adams going 1:57.

  13. I'm looking forward to Etrains District 1 preview, the speculation on who runs what and who the sleeper picks are to make states. Any chance at meet records? Do Norris and Russell run Friday's 1600 qualifier or just focus on the 3200? What big names double in the 4x800 and the 800 or 1600? Who are the picks to win? Good stuff.
