My To Do List for My Return

First off I have to finish studying and taking my finals, but then I kind of want to try and answer some questions

1. Why were the Penn Relays 4x8s so slow?
2. What's different about Pennridge indoors to outdoors? Can they defend their title?
3. What teams will pick the 4x8 over individual events? With individual events?
4. Does Drew Magaha read the blog? Is that why he changed the tenths on his 1:51 split on his journal?
5. Will LaSalle go 4x8 outdoors? Is Stone good enough to win the outdoor 800m title?
6. Who will win the AAA 3200m title? Will it be faster than AA? Will the independent league 3200m be the fastest of all?
7. Penn Relays results, who impressed, who didn't?
8. Who are the favorites to go to states on the distance side in District 1?
9. Who are the favorties to win at states?
10. Who are the favorites to medal at states?
11. Where did the 11 come from in etrain11?

Let me know what you want to know and I'll see what I can do upon my return.

Stay Classy.

  2. Well first off, I have been grudgingly waiting for you to return to posting. What else would I have to do in study hall then pour over your insightful posts?

anndd answer to number one is that Franklin field acts like a wind tunnel so it's always against you. Also because the heats are wayyy too big to have a realistic chance of getting out in a good position, no complaints though, the amount of competitors they have there is unimaginable.

    5) No clue, and stone is able to do it.

and question number 8) pretty much the same as above, except for Russell in the 3200. He has the option and ability to go to states in the mile also, and Henderson could decide to take their 4x8 that he would definitely be on unless coach Kelly doesn't want him doubling. So his options are 3200 and the 4x8 because of a reasonable rest between. Or just the 1600 so he doesn't need to rebound from a 4x8.

  3. 1. Because they were running two tough 4x8s in two days, and quite frankly i dont think chmabersburg is legit.
    2. well im pretty sure they dont have their lead off leg because there is a different name listed for nationals then the guy who ran at Penn. and yeah because chambersburg isnt good and they will run Holder in the open 8 and pennridge wont
    3. Pennridge, CV, Lasalle, NA, Mount lebo
    4. No clue
    5. they have usually gone with the 4x8 but i think Tom Coyle and Andrew stone are to close to winning titles to pass up the individual events. and yes
    7. Penn wood/futch impressive, definitely Lasalle/mainly coyle finished right behind CBA and St benadicts very impressive, Bensalem 4x4 and Drew Magaha. Unimpressive: Strath haven, penncreast, CV, chambersburg
    9. willig magaha futch the usual

  4. Where did NA and Mount Levo come into the 4x800 conversation?

  5. 1. Heats are massive and as has been said the weather was not ideal.
2.They seem to be focusing a lot on individual events, but I think they still go relays at States/Districts.
3.Looking back at results this weekend Penncrest got back on track with a good weekend. Three guys went sub 2:00 and had a good 4x400. They were Nate Emmanuel 156.65 Pat Miller 156.00 Colin Myers 159.25. I'm willing to bet that they still opt 4x800.
Pennridge topped that with 2 great showings from Logue and Kohler, still think that they can win the 4x800 if they stay fresh.
5.I think Lasalle still goes 4x800

  7. What about spring ford, kiski, altoona, and state college for the 4by8? And how can you say you dont think chambersburg is legit? They beat CV twice. Why is russell getting talk in the 3200? all he did was run the state qualifying time in a big invite. Kutcha just ran like a 9:17 and their are a lot more than him. (stiener, Macauley, appman, the altoona boys, savage and his squad, the list goes on)

    1. CV went 801 at Penn...and then chambersburg went 807 in the Championship of america. I'm sorry but 801 and 807 and even 756 dont see too legit to me if we are talking about serious contenders for a state title.

    2. nobody ran well at penn. im not saying they are going to win, but they should atleast place.

    3. Chambersburg ran a 3:22 only about two hours ago and only one leg was fresh. The last two legs did not even try to run fast. Whoever this guy writing about Chambersburg not being legit is too stuborn to realize that they could win states in the 4x8. You wait and see what happens buddy!

    4. Chambersburg guys had 10 days of serious racing prior to the Penns. You talk about Stone in the 800? Yep a great talent. D1 races against competition week in week out. Our efforts are limited. They will be there at states in the 800 and 4x800.

  8. The altoona boys have range, both split in the 155 156 range for the 8, 4:20 in the mile, and under 9:30 in the 3200, if both make states for the two mile they could be deadly. Also how about the 3200, AA is pretty stacked for this year with a bunch under 9:30 and if the pace goes out hard at states their could be even more.

  10. I heard that Willig and Devlin are both out.

  11. Willig is out? Well, that's news to me. Don't count Chambersburg out because of one race, everyone has bad races. They can come back and run a sub 7:50. We will see this week at championships how ready they are.

  13. What about Pennridge?? 8:00 with four fresh legs? You should be hating on them and not Chambersburg.

  14. Looking back at results from the past couple of days the central league and delaware county seem to be rounding into shape just in time for Districts/States. Jack Hummler with a great looking 800m at Delcos and Centrals. Jeff Seelaus and Jack both ran very good looking miles and 3200m at Delcos. Rumor has it that Jeff will be doing 3200m at Districts and Jack in the Mile/800m. Jack ran a 1:55.49 then a 154.XX. Strath Haven's 4x400m was finally able to put something together. They, by the looks of the time, out leaned Penncrest both teams putting up 3:22 lows. Penncrest's mid distance seems to be bouncing back after a tough outing at Penn Relays. At Delcos they had three 800m runners sub 2:00, two of them going 1:56 and their third going 1:59. They had two sophomores run very well in the 3200 and then run well in the mile too. Then at Centrals they put another man sub 2:00 and ran the 4x400 I referred to earlier. If you take all their open times from the past week they look to be about 7:50 which is a very good time going into districts. It will be interesting to see what comes out of central league. In Delaware County, you have the usual suspects from Pennwood running well. It will be interesting to see what open events they choose to go. Ohara was able to put a kid at 1:57 as well, and post some good 3200m times for knock too.

  15. its a time from a race etrain ran. whether his first high school dual meet or states. something of significance, he did bad and that significance made him train harder to get faster?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Look for Bensalem to put together a solid 4x8 this weekend at leagues, they've got the pieces to run fast. Chambersburg is definently legit. Also in the mile look for some fast times out of Horgan in the next couple of weeks, heard he's going for that at states.
